Department of Public Safety personnel received Letters of Appreciation for their support of the 2019 Wings Over South Texas Air Show.

Lt. Richard Hecke was awarded his third Navy Achievement Medal for his service as air show director, NAS Corpus Christi, from September 2018 to April 2019.
He synchronized and prioritized the planning efforts of 11 external organizations and 44 individual air show planners, managed a $225,000 budget, and ensured the participation of 13 individual performers.
His planning, acumen and insightful leadership guaranteed a treasured event enjoyed by more than 100,000 spectators. Hecke’s attention to detail was critical in the coordination, preparation and execution of an outstanding air show.
MAC Tommy Mauldin received his fifth Navy Achievement Medal for his service as antiterrorism officer for the April 13-14 Wings Over South Texas Air Show.
Mauldin’s actions directly contributed to the overall mission readiness of the Security Department and the seamless implementation of the base security plan for more than 100,000 guests.
He ensured 150 security force personnel merged with 24 Department of Public Safety troopers into one cohesive unit. His detailed security plan mitigated any vulnerability or risk to the installation and included all possible contingencies for emergencies.
ACC Timothy Wall received his fifth Navy Achievement Medal for his service as Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team liaison from September 2018 to April 2019.
Wall’s initiative and meticulous attention to detail were pivotal in the coordination, preparation and execution of an outstanding 2019 Wings Over South Texas Air Show.
He coordinated all lodging and transportation, organized the community meet-and-greet at Veterans Memorial High School and ensured secure airspace, which enabled aerobatic maneuvers in flight, and a treasured event enjoyed by over 100,000 spectators.
LS2 Robert Horacek was awarded his second Navy Achievement Medal for his service as air show contracting liaison from September 2018 to April 2019.
Horacek’s uncompromising work ethic and personal initiative were instrumental in the outstanding execution of the 2019 Wings Over South Texas Air Show.
He assisted in managing a $225,000 budget, the awarding of 10 contracts, and the completion of 16 credit card purchases while ensuring zero unauthorized commitments.
MA3 Kyle Shields was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for his service as patrol supervisor, NAS Corpus Christi, from September 2016 to May 2019. As patrol supervisor, he was responsible for the supervision of 10 patrolmen, 15 sentries, 370 vehicle inspections, 150 traffic stops, 8 traffic accidents, 5 DUIs and 2 domestic disturbance cases without incident.
He was instrumental in the training of seven military working dog teams to include NAS Kingsville’s military working dog teams as kennel support and explosive handling quality assurance/safety observer.
Misty Delafuente, of Admin Department, was recognized as Civilian of the Quarter Second Quarter 2019.
Andrea Garrett, of IT Department, was recognized as Senior Civilian of the Quarter Second Quarter 2019.
BM3 Danielle Wallace was recognized as Blue Jacket of the Quarter Second Quarter 2019.
LS2 Robert Horacek was recognized as Junior Sailor of the Quarter Second Quarter 2019.
AC1 Russell Maynard was recognized as Senior Sailor of the Quarter Second Quarter 2019.
