Occupation: Coast Guardsman Years Exercising: Six years. Frequency (how many times a week): 4-6 days a week. Favorite Exercise & Food: Burpees and Asian food. Favorite motivational saying: “You miss a 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” What inspired you to start exercising? After high school, I realized how strong I could get by just lifting weights. How has being consistent with your fitness benefited you? Being consistent with my fitness makes me more confident in and outside of the gym. I know if I take a week off, I can bounce back and pick up right where I left off. What do your family or friends think of your fitness habits? They think some of the workouts I come up with are crazy but they’re always motivating me to keep going. What are the challenges you have overcome to maintain your fitness? I had a knee injury while I was doing pistol squats one day. It took physical therapy and light weight lifting to get my knee strong again. What advice would you give someone who is just starting their fitness journey? The process is slow but don’t give up. Don’t worry about how heavy or how hard, some is killing cardio; you’ll get there one day.
