Bravo Zulu to the following NAS Corpus Christi personnel who were recognized recently in an All Hands Call:

Charles Gillum was recognized for 10 years of Federal service.

Mary Moyer was recognized for 30 years of Federal service.

Otis Terrell Jr. was recognized for 35 years of Federal service.

Nathaniel Pyle was named 2018 Navy Region Southeast Fire Instructor of the year.

Lt. Cmdr. Dan Curtis was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for service as Regimental Chaplain, 2d Marine Division, from September 2016 to March 2019.

Curtis provided superior mentorship and supervision to 6th, 8th and 10th Marine Regiments, supervising 32 chaplains and RP’s, overseeing training, mentorship and discipline to accomplish 12 successful deployments and major exercises.

He designed and implemented a crucial network of religious ministry support for 5,000 members of the 6th Marine Regiment to ensure uninterrupted care while he was deployed in support of Task Force Southwest.

He also instrumental in the creation a character development tool now being prepared for use throughout the Marine Corps.

ACC Julian Demps received his second Navy Commendation Medal for his service as Tower Chief and NATOPS instructor, Air Operations, NASCC from May 2016 to May 2019.

Demps expertly led 56 controllers in the completion of 312,577 mishap-free flight operations. Additionally, he directly contributed to 116 professional qualifications being earned by his Sailors.

ETC Dedrick Sharpe was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for his service as LCPO for U.S. Naval Construction Battalion (NMCB) Three from October 2014 to October 2018.

Sharpe completed the first Naval Construction Force employment of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Tactical Enterprise Command and Control Suite, deploying the system to Okinawa, Japan, which greatly increased mission readiness throughout the Pacific.

He also developed and implemented innovative data collection methods for five construction civic action details, standardizing construction force requirements and improving data capabilities in remote locations.

MA2 Mikail Williams was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for service as a patrol supervisor from May 2016 to May 2019.

Williams supervised eight security force personnel through 175 service calls, performed 1,250 hours of anti-terrorism and force protection operations, conducted 85 random vehicle inspections and completed 19 criminal investigations. As a field training officer,

Williams personally qualified three watch commanders, six patrol supervisors, 12 patrolmen and 14 sentries.

EN2 Martin Mora received his fifth Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for service as a maintenance technician, NASCC 1st Lt. division from May 2016 to May 2019.

Mora saved the Navy more than $450,000 in offset contractor costs by aiding in 81 installation self-help projects. As Assistant Command fitness leader, he led 90 physical training sessions and maintained the fitness records for 167 personnel, contributing to the commands 98 percent pass rate for fiscal year 2017-2018 fitness cycles.

Mora was also awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for his outstanding public service of more than 305 hours throughout the Navy and civilian communities from march May 2016-May 2019.

He devoted time and effort to give back to numerous organizations including 9/11 Vets for Vets, Adopt-a-Beach, Buc Days, USO, MWR, Corpus Christi Women’s Shelter, Honor Guard and Roadrunner Ruckers of South Texas.

CS2 Garrett Pridgenhoward was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for his outstanding public service of more than 380 hours throughout the Navy and civilian communities from November 2016 to April 2019.

He devoted time and effort to give back to numerous organizations including the Adopt-a-Beach program, NASCC Welcome Back to School Campaign, Read Across America, and Red Ribbon Week.

ET1 Ebony Griner received a Letter of Commendation for performance while serving as the multi-cultural heritage committee representative aboard USS Bataan (LHD-5) from Jan. 2018- Jan. 2019.

Griner contributed 60 hours to 12 special observances to increase awareness, mutual respect and understanding by recognizing the continuous achievements of all American culture.

Letters of Appreciation were presented to MA1 Sean Hiller, AO1 Jackie Johnson, MA1 Louis Lozada, LS2 Robert Horacek, ABH2 Joe Mora, AC2 Cecilia Rosas, CS2 Kyle Starzec, LS2 Joseph Thompson, QM2 Mariah Winn, AC3 Maria Ibarra and AC3 Preston Pratt, for volunteering their personal time to the Coastal Bend Classic NJROTC Drill and Fitness Competition held at W.B Ray High School, Jan. 26.
