SUMMER READING
Registration for MWR’s 2019 Summer Reading Program begins April 22. From May 6 through Sept. 6 you can read books and win prizes from the library. All ages welcome to participate. Register online or at the library. After signing up, reading kits and t-shirts will be available for pick up at the library. BASE CLEANUP
We will be hosting a Base Cleanup prior to the Beach to Bay run on Friday, May 17 from 8 - 10 a.m. Please meet at Sunfish Pavilion at 8 AM for registration, supplies, and a safety brief. Cleanup areas will be assigned. Gloves, safety vests, and garbage bags will be provided. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. BABY TIME AT THE LIBRARY
The Library and Resource Center (Bldg. 1872) holds Baby Time every Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m.
Eligible patrons can bring thier children ages 2 and younger to enjoy short stories, songs and felt board activities.

FREE BOWLING
Lighthouse Lanes Bowling Center (Bldg. 1707) hosts free bowling for all active-duty service members in uniform every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Contact the Lighthouse Lanes at 961-3805 for more information.
UNIFORM SHOP RELOCATED
The Uniform Shop is now closed. All of your uniform needs are now located at the Navy Exchange main store. The laundry, dry cleaning and tailoring drop-off and pick-up service is now located at the Customer Service section of the main Exchange.
NMCRS BENEFIT TICKETS
From now until May 15, the NEX will offer customers the opportunity to support the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) by purchasing a $5 benefit ticket. The benefit tickets will be available for purchase at the main Exchange and online at myNavyExchange.com.
The benefit ticket will also be offering customers a bounce back coupon.
Customers who make a purchase using the benefit ticket during May 9 – 15 will receive an additional $5 bounce back coupon that can be used on another purchase in store, May 9 – 15 or online from May 9 – 17.
MOTHER’S DAY SHOUT OUTS
For Mother’s Day this year, The Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO) is offering the opportunity to share short, recorded shout-outs (15-20 seconds) from Sailors to their mothers. These messages will be shared with local media. Deadline is May 6 at 8 a.m. EST
Instructions:
• Call 1-855-OUR-NAVY (1-855-687-6289)
• Wait for a 3-5 second pause after voice directions and record message, using the template script below.
• Once you hang-up, the audio file will automatically be sent to NAVCO to be screened before being shared with radio media outlets in the Sailor’s hometown. Speak audibly and clearly. If they cannot understand your name, hometown or command, your shout-out will be unusable.
Example script:
HI, I’M NAVY (RANK) (FULL NAME) FROM (HOMETOWN), (HOMESTATE). I’M CURRENTLY SERVING ABOARD (COMMAND) IN (CITY/STATE) PROVIDING THE NAVY THE NATION NEEDS. I WANT TO WISH MY MOTHER, (MOTHER’S NAME), HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! I LOVE YOU, MOM!
IA DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT
The Navy’s Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) has about 200 local and regional staff worldwide who provide an array of services for individual augmentees (IAs) and their family members before, during and after an IA assignment.
Every IA is assigned an Individual Deployment Support Specialist (IDSS), a Fleet and Family Support Center staff member who provides individualized support and assists with information and referral, homecoming briefs and referrals to clinical counseling as needed during a Sailor’s IA deployment cycle.
Other services include personal financial management, transition assistance, spouse employment assistance, new parent support and much more.
There are a number of resources available to IAs and their families.
