SUPER BOWL PARTY
MWR is hosting a Super Bowl viewing party at the Catalina Club on Sunday, Feb. 3. Come out and watch the big game on eight 80-inch televisions! Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the game coverage is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. This is a free event open to all hands. For more information, call 961-1293
FEATS OF STRENGTH
NASCC MWR’s inaugural Strongest Man and Woman Championships will be held Saturday, Jan. 26. Competition events include a tire flip and deadlift medley; truck push; dumbbell press; sandbag over bar; and a farmer walk. There will be several weight and age categories including an age-adjusted category for children ages 5-8 with parental supervision. The event is free for all eligible MWR patrons. Register for the event at the E-Street Gym or Fitness Express. Registration ends today.

THURSDAY NIGHT MOVIES
There will be a free showing of “Ocean’s 8” held tonight at 7 p.m. in the Community Recreation Center (Bldg. 1281). Free popcorn will be served. There is limited seating so reserve your spot by calling 961-3768.
A free showing of “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” will be shown next Thursday, Jan. 31, at the same time in the same location as tonight’s movie.
MLK JR. OBSERVANCE
The NHCCC Diversity Committee will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during an African-American History Month observance, Feb. 11 at 11:30 a.m. in the NHCCC Crew’s Lounge.

MARRAIGE ENRICHMENT
The Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Chaplain’s Office will be hosting a CREDO Marriage Enrichment Retreat, Feb. 15-17. The retreat will be located at the Omni Hotel in downtown Corpus Christi and will be a great time to reconnect with your spouse! All legally married Active-Duty (& Reserve) service members and their spouses are eligible to attend. Childcare will not be provided. Participants are individually responsible for their own childcare.
CREDO Retreats are in high demand; therefore, all registrations are based upon a “first-come, first-serve” policy as there are limited seats available. HELPING HANDS
The USO South Texas and the NAS Corpus Christi Commissary are helping Coast Guard families during thier time of need by creating donation bags with enough food too feed a family of six..
If you wish to help, donation bags will be available at the register for $10.00.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting applications for their Military Legacy Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually to military personnel, their spouse or dependent, from the Coastal Bend region. The deadline to apply is March 31.
Active duty and honorably discharged U.S. veterans, including U.S. Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists and their dependents are eligible to apply.
