NASCC personnel recognized
Congratulations to the following NAS Corpus Christi personnel who were recently recognized for their achievements:
ET1 Daniel Jacox was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for his service as maintenance leading petty officer, Air Operations Department at NAS Corpus Christi from August 2015 to June 2018. Jacox displayed superb leadership and technical acumen, leading 28 technicians in completing 21,026 preventive maintenance actions, 10 flight checks, 8 equipment upgrade installations, 2 micro-miniature repair certifications and Hurricane Harvey response stowage and restoral.
ABHC Carlo Abalos received his fifth Navy Achievement Medal for his service as the 2018 Navy and marine Corps Relief Society Active Duty Fund Drive Coordinator, NAS Corpus Christi from March to April 2018. As fund drive coordinator, Abalos spearheaded the training and led 28 key persons in soliciting 1,248 active-duty personnel throughout the base. His dedication resulted in the command raising $47,075 for the Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society program.
AC1 Patrick Kiger was awarded his third Navy Achievement Medal for his service as the assistant coordinator for the 2018 NMCRS Active-Duty Fund Drive from March to April 2018. As assistant fund drive coordinator, he led the key persons in establishing 100 percent contact of 1,248 military, while spearheading a highly successful campaign that achieved a 150 percent increase of contributions and raised $47,075 to benefit Sailors and Marines in need.
AC1 Patrick Kiger also received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for his public service throughout the Navy and civilian communities from March 2007 through January 2018. He contributed time and support as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical responder supporting the Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency and Fire Rescue Services, responding to 236 emergency calls while dedicating more than 1,100 hours serving and protecting the community. Kiger also helped raise $4,200 for the Wounded Warrior Project; and continuously supports the USO of South Texas, Fleet Reserve Association, Buccaneer Days Festival and Old Bayview Veterans Cemetery.
AC2 David Fitzgerald received his second Navy Achievement Medal for his service as a veterans memorial service and honor guard team member, NAS Corpus Christi, from January 2017 to January 2018. His commitment to honoring the sacrifices and contributions of our nation’s veterans resulted in the rendering of 21 military funeral honors displaying our nation’s deepest gratitude to those who faithfully defended our country.
AC2 Benjamin King was awarded his second Navy Achievement Medal for his service as facility watch supervisor, NAS Corpus Christi, from July 2014 to June 2018. As facility watch supervisor, he led a 26-person watch team in successfully completing 693,524 mishap-free flight operations. As a veterans memorial team member, he rendered honors at 32 funerals and 12 honor guard events.
MA2 Robert Rayon was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for his service as watch commander, Security Department, NAS Corpus Christi, from May 2014 to June 2018. As watch commander, Rayon supervised 15 naval security force personnel, four Dept. of Navy police officers, 38 auxiliary security force members, 11 Army military police officers and four Air Force military police officers. His expertise ensured the safety and security of 10,000 personnel, three outlying landing fields and $43 billion in government property.
AC3 Michael Rolfe received a Navy Achievement Medal for his service as veterans memorial service and honor guard team member from March 2017 to January 2018. His commitment to honor the sacrifices and contributions of our nation’s veterans resulted in the rendering of 30 military funeral honors displaying the nation’s deepest gratitude to those who faithfully defended our country.
