Sammy the Sailor visits NASCC

Sammy is traveling the world in an effort to visit all of the Navy Lodge locations in celebration of the Navy Lodge Program’s 50th anniversary. Each Navy Lodge enjoys Sammy’s company for 10 days before shipping him off to his next destination.

The first Navy Lodge opened at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Va. on Feb. 6, 1971. Over the past 50 years, the Navy Lodge Program has grown to 39 facilities worldwide. Throughout this year, the Navy Lodge Program has been celebrating its 50th anniversary with a series of events, activities and surprises for guests and the local military community.
