NAVY BIRTHDAY 5K
Navy Region Southeast is holding a Region-wide 5K run in honor of the Navy’s 244th birthday, Oct. 18. The run begins at 9 a.m. in the Protestant Chapel parking lot. Medals awarded to the top three male and female runners! All runners are eligible to enter a separate give away of exciting prizes. Open to all ages. Registered participants will receive a commemorative T-Shirt (while supplies last). Following the run, enjoy Navy Birthday cupcakes. Pre-register at the Fitness Express, bldg. 103. NAVY BALL
Navy Ball tickets are now on sale. This year’s Navy Ball will be held on Oct. 18 at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center.in Corpus Christi. Contact your local navy Ball representative for tickets and details. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
MWR is looking for volunteers to help with all phases of the Haunted Clinic that will be the feature attraction for the upcoming “Spooktober” Halloween event. Help is needed for planning the event, building/decorating the set, staffing during the event and breaking down the set after the event is finished. BOOK SWAP
The Library and Resource Center is holding a book swap on Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Trade your books for different ones you have never read before. Participants can drop off thier gently used books at the library prior to the swapping event. For more information, call the Library and Resource Center at 961-3574.
CARDIO DANCE FITNESS CLASS
There is a free cardio dance group fitness class held at Fitness Express every Monday and Wednesday from 9 -10 a.m.
This cardio class uses music and easy to follow dance moves combining fast and slow rythems. All fitness levels are welcome.

E-STREET GYM CLOSURE
The E-Street Gym is closed for repairs while the floors are being refinished.
The gym wil remain closed through Oct. 4, and reopen during regular hours on Oct. 5.
NFL SUNDAY TICKET
NFL football games are now available for viewing at the Catilina Club.

BOOK OR TREAT STORY TIME
Stop by the Library and Resorce Center on Oct. 24, for a family friendly night as we read stories, have a snack, make a craft, and win door prizes for best costumes. Event starts at 5:30 p.m. and is free to all authorized patrons.
BACK TO SCHOOL CARE
The Youth Activities Center back to school care program is now available.
Register now at militarychildcare.com for before-school care, after-school care or combined before/after-school care.
Care is open to children of eligible sponsors at NASCC who are ages Kindergarten through 12-years-old. (Bus transportation is available for children enrolled at Flour Bluff ISD.)
Teen Open-Rec available before school only for ages 13 – 18 (Limited space is available).

Catholic Mass services on board NASCC have been suspended until further notice.

SPOOKTOBER
MWR is hosting a “Spooktober” event at the the base health clinic (bldg. H-100), Oct. 26, from 5 -9 p.m.
Free activities include: Haunted Clinic tour, inflatables, petting zoo, Trunk or Treat, crafts, costume contests and more.

MWR GUEST CARD PROGRAM
The MWR Guest Card is available to all eligible U.S. citizens who do not currently have base/MWR access.
Card program members will have permission to use the Gulf Winds Golf Course, NASCC marina, RV park and MWR food facilities.
A criminal history background check is required.
