Feeding Your Baby

Nov. 14, from 1 - 3 p.m.

This class is presented by New Parent Support and NMCRS Lactation Consultant Cheryl Mills. Discuss all aspects of feeding your baby (breastfeeding and bottle). This is a three-week class with the first two classes geared toward the moms and the last class just for dads. Parents are free to ask any questions to help prepare them to feed their newborn baby. Baby Sensory Class

Stress Management 101

Nov. 15, 9-10 a.m.

Stress Management 101 is a four-part, seven-hour course designed to enable the learner to establish personal accountability strategies for the purpose reducing stress in their work and home life. Lesson one is a one-hour course, lessons two through four are two-hour courses.

Spouse Resume Writing

Nov. 20, from 8 - 11 a.m.

A workshop for active-duty spouses/ dependants. This workshop is devoted to exploring the Coastal Bend area emloyment climate, basic writing skills, data mining, organization and formatting, and usage of efective language. Prerequisites include pre-registration and bringing an existing or draft resume. To register, send an email to nascc_ffsc_services@navy.mil.

FAP 101

Nov. 20, from 1 -2 p.m.

This training will provide education on the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) process. Attendees will gain knowledge on FAP reports and reporting options, and the progress of a case from start to finish. Transition Assistance Program

Nov. 18 - 22, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Personnel leaving military must start the transition assistance process no later than 365 days before separating or retiring from the service. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. Topics that are covered include resumes, job search skills, job interviewing, federal and state employment options, veteran’s benefits, pay & travel, movement of household goods, financial planning, forms and documents, benefits and services, military obligations, and more. You must contact a Command Career Counselor (CCC) to schedule a TAP class. Contact one of the Command Transition Officers at nascc_ffsc_tap.fct@navy.mil, if you have any questions.

Couples Communication

Nov. 19, from 1-2 p.m.

This is a psychoeducational group led by clinicians to help couples learn how to communicate openly and honestly and to learn how to attack the issues threatening thier relationship rather than attacking each other.
