Air Force A-10 Demo added to air show lineup

The Air Combat Command A-10 Demonstration Team has been added to the Wings Over South Texas Air Show line up April 13-14. The A-10 is the Air Force’s premier close air support aircraft providing invaluable protection to troops on the ground.

The demonstration team is stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, and the team performs precision aerial maneuvers showcasing the unique combat capabilities of the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

“More acts will continue to be added to the line-up as the show nears,” said Lt. Richard Hecke, air show coordinator. “But, we’re thrilled to have the Air Force’s A-10 Demo Team take part in our Wings Over South Texas Air Show April 13-14, 2019.”

The U.S. Navy’s premier demonstration team the Blue Angels is the headline act, flying the Boeing F/A-18 Hornet. The 2019 air show season marks the team’s 73rd anniversary. Since 1946, the Blue Angels have performed for nearly 500 million fans.
