Three more civilian acts added to Wings Over South Texas Air Show

Skip Stewart is one of the best in the business today and has proven to be one of the most entertaining airshow pilots in the world today. He has more than 10,000 hours of flying experience -- an airline transport pilot, Boeing 727 and MD-11 Captain, a certified flight instructor, owning and operating an aerobatic flight school, and serving as chief pilot for a Fortune 100 company. He is the recipient of the 2013 Bill Barber Award for Showmanship and the 2015 Art Scholl Award. Stewart has also earned numerous Gold Medals in regional aerobatic competitions and has spent more than 14 years entertaining airshow fans around the world.

Skip Stewart is the first pilot to fly an airplane under a jumping motorcycle at an Airshow and he also flies with several other pilots forming shows such as the renowned TinStix of Dynamite Act.

Prometheus the flying machine is part Pitts Special and the rest is the vision of Skip Stewart. Starting life as a Pitts S-2S, Prometheus was modified to give Skip the airshow machine he wanted. This flying machine looks like a good old American hot rod. The horsepower was increased to (400), the big three bladed prop reminds you of oversized racing slicks, the rear canted landing gear makes it look fast sitting on the ground and the paint job yells “street rod.”

Jerry Conley has 40 years’ experience flying a variety of aircraft and has performed at air shows across the country flying high in his performance jet aircraft for 15 years. He flies the de Havilland Vampire, a unique craft that brings speed, noise, jet warbird aerobatics and a profile that grabs audiences’ attention.

Conley’s flying career started at eight years old when he got a kids’ book titled “Jerry the Jet” and the rest if history. Vampire Airshow’s mission is about the merging of entertainment and education. While Conley flies the aircraft he banters with the announcer, which draws the crowd into learning about the aircraft. The Vampire is a jet that is inspiring to watch fly.

Conley holds a surface level aerobatic card with solo jet certification, and dogfight. He is also an avid car enthusiast having built a high performance 1966 Cobra sports car. Whether in the air or on the road, it if goes fast, that is where you will find him.

In addition to Stewart and Conley, added to the lineup is Kate Kyer.

com/The Worlds First Single Engine Jet Fighter

Kyer lives in North Texas and is a “taildragger” pilot. Kyer and her husband are both pilots – they own a Pitts S-2B, which Kyer uses for competition and airshows. They also have a Cessna 180 and Call Air A-2, and both fly for the airlines.

The Wings Over South Texas Air Show card is filling out with many diverse acts and is sure to please all aviation enthusiasts young and old alike.
