NASCC Sailor up for Navy honors
Since 1985, the Navy has awarded the Vice Admiral William P. Lawrence Award that honors the top air traffic control technician each year.
In an announcement recently from Rear Adm. Bette Bolivar, Commander, Navy Region Southeast, NASCC’s ET2 James Chiasson had been selected across CNRSE to represent the region for the Lawrence award.
“Chiasson was nominated because of his hard work restoring precision approach radar from multiple catastrophic casualties, including repairs that are beyond the air station’s scope of work,” said ETC Christopher Wilson, Ground Electronics, leading chief petty officer. “Additionally, he was instrumental in stowing for and recovering from Hurricane Harvey with minimal damages to ground electronics equipment.”
