NASCC Fitness Center reopens, refurbished, revitalized, reorganized

Fitness now has a fresh face!

With the newly renovated and reorganized Fitness Express, there are many other new updates to ensure your summer motivation stays at peak capacity.

Walking into E-Street Gym, you’ll encounter a newly organized fitness space including the “Power Room” where lifting heavy objects promise gains. Adjacent to the gymnasium, there is a “Conditioning and Recovery Room” containing a versatile cable crossover machine, rower, stationary bike, boxing bags and a variety of rehabilitation and recovery equipment to help you with your mobility warm-ups, cool-downs or “active rest” days.

When you walk into to Fitness Express across the street, you’ll notice a very diverse group exercise schedule posted prominently on the counter; an energetic, helpful staff; and an immaculately clean and air-conditioned facility. From top-to-bottom this place looks renewed and different.

The equipment has been rearranged to showcase areas for training each body-part -- upper-body equipment and dumbbells on one side, and back and leg training pieces on the right. The area feels open and less crowded. Now, with the extra area to train at E-Street Gym, it may just give fitness enthusiasts additional ideas for workouts.

Morale, Welfare and Recreation now has a personal trainer on staff and there are more than 14 different group exercise classes. There plenty of options for enjoy staying active.

Active military members are able to participate in training sessions for free on a “time available” basis and with a limited number of sessions. For all others, personal training is available for a very reasonable $30 per session.

Free special events are also in the works including the “Rejuvenation Series” that began this week and will have different topics each month. Join in at any time to learn more about how to stay injury-free.
