Getting fit with .... Michael Dickson
Occupation: Instructor Pilot Years Exercising: 7 years Frequency: 5 times a week Favorite exercise & favorite food: Squatting & eating steak Favorite motivational saying: “Don’t curl at the squat rack!” “Use the machines for what they’re meant for.” What inspired you to start exercising? Boredom. On my first deployment there was nothing else to do so I started hitting the gym. How has being consistent with your fitness benefited you? Helps establish a daily routine. If you knock out your workout in the morning, the rest of your day falls into place. What do your family or friends think of your fitness habits? They joke about it in a good way! What are the challenges you have overcome to maintain your fitness? Busy schedules and repetition of certain exercises. What advice would you give someone who is just starting their fitness journey? Start small and work your way up. Create a schedule and stick to it!
