Occupation: PhD Candidate / Child Advocate Years Exercising: 18 years (8 years competing) Frequency (how many times a week): Six times a week. Favorite Exercise & food: Any leg or glute exercise and chocolate cake. Favorite motivational saying: “You got this.” What inspired you to start exercising? I had a heart attack and stroke in front of my two boys. How has being consistent with your fitness benefited you? I was able to drop 60 pounds in less than a year with the help of my friend and trainer, Jason Urbanski. After the weight loss, I began competing in body building competitions. I placed 4th in figure at National Physique Committee (NPC) 2nd Bikini Diva Natural; placed 3rd at 16th NPC Corpus Christi Battle on the Bay, and held the title of 2016/2017 Mrs. Pearl Harbor. What do your family or friends think of your fitness habits? They are very happy and excited for me. My boys are very proud of me as well. What challenges have you overcome to maintain your fitness? Injuries, but I keep going. What advice would you give someone who is just starting their fitness journey? Keep at it, never give up because you either want to live, or die.
