Bravo zulu to the following Naval Air Station Corpus Christi personnel who were recently recognized in an All Hands Call.

Several personnel received Letters of Appreciation from Special Olympics Texas for their support of the 2,000 athletes in the Greater Corpus Christi Area. They volunteered their services for the Area Spring Games at Flour Bluff High School on April 6. Congratulations Lt. Cmdr. Daniel Curtis, LS1 Joseph Thompson, ET1 Ebony Griner, EN2 Marcus Salazar, LS2 Robert Horacek, ET2 Kenneth Vazquez, AC2 Cecilia Rosas, ET2 Malcolm Moore, ET2 Nicholas Cruz, CS2 Garrett Pridgenhoward, ABH2 Tiffany Davenport, ABH3 Jaques Shine, BM3 Danielle Wallace, AC2 Maria Sagemanserrano and ACAN Katherine Smith.

Robert Bustamante was recognized for five years of Federal service.

Tomasita Hinojosa was recognized for 30 years of Federal service.

Lt. Cmdr. Daniel Curtis and ET1 Ebony Griner received Certificates of Appreciation from the Fleet & Family Support Center for their support and service to the Military Spouse Appreciation Day Luncheon held May 15.

Bravo zulu to the following NASCC master-at-arms who received Navy Achievement Medals for their actions on Feb. 14, during an unauthorized access incident. Medals were awarded to MA1 Lester Levene, MA1 Sean Hiller, MA1 Taylor Sayles, MA2 Travis Betterton, MA2 Fernando Covarrubias, MA2 Shane Weaver, MA3 Riley Futrelle and MA3 Brandon Davis.

Congratulations to AC3 Aaron Johnson who was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for his service as air operations supervisor, Operations Department, USS Nimitz (CVN 68) from April 2016 to May 2019.

Johnson displayed exceptional leadership as he managed a three-person watch team in the dissemination of essential flight information for 5,281 carrier aircraft operations, including 1,322 combat sorties during the 2017 deployment.

Also, his instruction was critical in producing 77 air traffic control qualifications and 15 air operations supervisor designations.

MA3 Jose Castruita was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for his service as static post supervisor, 4th Platoon, Company A, Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Bangor from march 2016 to March 2019.

Castruita displayed exceptional leadership while coordinating the flawless employment of 105 Marines and Sailors to successfully maintain tactical security of strategic assets.

As a squad leader, he directly bolstered the technical proficiency and readiness of 44 Sailors by challenging each to achieve over 50 critical qualifications.

Castruita also played a critical role in three successful strategic arms reduction treaty inspections, the advancement of 14 Sailors to petty officer third class, and accountability and maintenance of $1.6 million in guard force communications equipment, facilities and vehicles.

DC2 Gerald Goodlett received the Navy Achievement Medal for his service as watch commander, Security Department, NAS Corpus Christi, from April 2017 to July 2019. As watch commander, he supervised 12 patrolmen through 400 calls to service, 120 armed forces traffic tickets and 280 incident complaint reports.

Goodlett’s dedication contributed to the safety and security of over 10,000 personnel working and residing on the installation. As a security training instructor, he dedicated over 200 hours providing annual sustainment training, monitoring 110 training records and managing the data housing and reporting tool.

MA2 Toucheleak Mael received a Navy Achievement Medal for her service as watch commander, Security Department, NAS Corpus Christi, from July 2016 to July 2019.

As watch commander, Mael supervised 30 security force personnel through 200 calls for service, performance of 1,750 hours of flight line security checks, 110 random vehicle inspections and 33 criminal investigations with no discrepancies.

As kennel support, her ability and willingness to train others was vital to the training of seven military working dog teams for two CNIC installations, improving the response capabilities for Navy Region Southeast.

MA2 Jose Vargas was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for his service as patrolman, Security Department, NASCC, from June 2016 to July 2019.

Vargas executed his law enforcement duties responding to more than 200 calls for service, over 3,250 hours of force protection operations and 15 criminal investigations with no discrepancies.

His commitment to professional development and willingness to train others resulted in the qualification of seven patrolmen and six sentries and a 95 percent qualification to paygrade rate.

MA3 James Brock received a Navy Achievement Medal for his service as patrol supervisor, Security Department, NASCC from June 2016 to June 2019.

As patrolman, Brock expertly executed his law enforcement duties responding to more than 210 calls for service, performance of 3,000 hours of force protection operations and 12 criminal investigations with no discrepancies.

His ability and willingness to train others paved the way for the qualification of six patrolmen and five entries.
