Bravo Zulu to the following NAS Corpus Christi personnel who were recognized at a recent All Hands ceremony:
MA1 Timothy Barreras and DC1 Ronald Monteroso received Certificates of Appreciation for their support of the Sea Hornet Classic Junior Reserve Officers’Training Corps Drill Meet sponsored by Flour Bluff High School’s NJROTC on Nov. 10.
The drill meet hosted more than 800 cadets from Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps JROTC units from across Texas.
Daniel Thompson was recognized for his 10 years of Federal service.
Hector Pizana was recognized for his 15 years of Federal service.
Lydia Broussard and Leroy Dunk were both recognized for 35 years of Federal service..
MA3 Yaisa Coburn was awarded Blue Jacket of the Quarter for the first quarter of FY19 for her service as patrol supervisor, NAS Corpus Christi Security Department.
Coburn spent 40 off-duty hours procuring and making farewell paddles for departing Sailors increasing morale.
Her mentoring of five junior Sailors resulted in two qualifying above paygrade and 100 percent qualifying to paygrade, which has directly affected the department’s qualification to paygrade rate of 98 percent and bolstered overall readiness.
DC2 Gerald Goodlett was awarded Sailor of the Quarter for the first quarter of FY19 for his service as watch commander, NASCC Security Department.
Goodlett’s management of a section of 12 naval security force patrolman, one Department of Defense officer, three auxiliary security and five Corpus Christi Army Depot security force personnel ensured the safety of more than 10,000 personnel working and living on the installation.
His mentorship and guidance resulted in the qualification of two watch commanders, two patrol supervisors and one patrolman. Goodlett also volunteered with Watch D.O.G.S. and Kolda Elementary School.
YN1 Bridget Crawford was awarded Senior Sailor of the Quarter for the first quarter of FY19 for her service as assistant administrative officer.
Crawford facilitated the completion of more than 200 pieces of command correspondence, awards, evaluations and directives.
As command sponsor coordinator, social committee and First Class Petty Officer Association present, she provided for the smooth transition and check-in of eight Sailors, two volunteer service projects and the planning and execution of the 243rd Navy Ball and NASCC holiday party.
ACC Jarred Lee was awarded his fifth Navy Achievement Medal for his service as air traffic control NATOPS evaluator from January to December 2018.
As evaluator, he developed a comprehensive and specialized training program surpassing all historical training metrics producing 200 air traffic control qualifications through 7,100 hours of instruction.
Also, he accomplished a 61.2 percent increase in qualifications from the previous year, culminating superlative performance documented during the 2018 Commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific Air Traffic Control Quality Assurance Evaluation.
ACCS Kristen Poulin was awarded her fifth Navy Achievement Medal for her service as air traffic control leading chief petty officer from January to December 2018.
She inspired her Sailors to deliver their very best which ensured continual improvement of all processes through sound mentoring and genuine deck-plate leadership. Poulin’s actions resulted in 200 professional qualifications being earned this year, surpassing the previous year’s metrics by 61.29 percent.
She also prepared the division for the 2018 Commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific Air Traffic Control Quality Assurance Evaluation, which resulted in outstanding remarks by all evaluators.
MAC Travis Boyle received a Navy Commendation Medal for his service as operations chief petty officer, Security Department, from January 2016 to February 2019.
Boyle superbly managed 140 security force personnel providing safety and security for more than 10,000 personnel working and residing on the installation.
His expertise was key in the command receiving an overall grade of 84 on the 2018 command assessment for readiness and training. Through his direct training, he qualified 17 watch commanders, 20 patrol supervisors, 65 patrolmen and 75 sentries resulting in a 98 percent qualification rate.
MA1 Stathis Guzman was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for his service as departmental leading petty officer, Security Department, from January 2016 to January 2019.
His superb management of 140 security force personnel provided safety and security for more than 10,000 personnel working and residing on the installation.
Guzman’s intrusive leadership in the planning and execution of 51 Navy security exercises and drills ensured 100 percent completion of 2,400 hours of training and directly led to the command receiving an overall score of 84 percent on the 2018 command assessment for readiness and training.
AT1 Ben Liskey was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for his service as leading petty officer, Ground Electronics Maintenance division, from November 2015 to January 2019.
Liskey led 28 technicians in completing 21,026 preventive maintenance actions, 10 flight checks, eight equipment upgrade installations and Hurricane Harvey response stowage and restoral.
As Command Fitness Leader he maintained nearly 500 records and led 1,008 fitness hours with a 97 percent pass rate over three cycles.
