(Photos by Jason Kucera) MA2 Edward Nielsen receives the Navy Achievement Medal for his performance as watch commander, April 2015 until March 2018. He supervised 15 security force personnel through 200 calls for service, performed 1,250 hours of flight line security checks, conducted 110 random vehicle inspections, and completed 22 criminal investigations. His exceptional leadership and ability to train others enhanced the overall readiness of the department. AC1 Candice Flesner is awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for her performance of duties from June 2014 through March 2018. She displayed superb leadership and technical acumen, expertly leading a 24 person watch team in successfully completing nearly 700,000 mishap-free flight operations at the NASCC pilot training complex. AC2 Andrew Watkins is awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for his commitment to honoring the sacrifices and contributions of our nation’s veterans that resulted in the superior rendering of 45 military funeral honors, from September 2016 until September 2017, displaying our nation’s deepest gratitude to those who faithfully defended our country. MA3 Sean Whitlatch is awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for his performance as duty armorer, Security, from April 2015 until April 2018. As duty armorer, he maintained 116 weapons, at least 4,000 rounds of ammunition, and equipment valued in excess of $250,000. He also provided critical antiterrorism and force protection for the NASCC community. Frank Rivera Jr., Family Life Specialist with Fleet and Family Support Center, is recognized for five years of federal service as a DoD civilian. MA3 Joseph Mora receives the Navy Achievement Medal for his service aboard NASCC, April 2015 through May 2018. As duty armorer, he conducted over 1,000 uploads and downloads without incident, while simultaneously maintaining 100 percent accountability of at least $250,000 of equipment. He responded to more than 300 calls to service, 90 intrusion detection alarms, and completed 40 incident complaint reports. AC3 Phoebe Sharp receives the Navy Achievement Medal for her commitment to honoring the sacrifices and contributions of our nation’s veterans resulting in the superior rendering of 35 military funeral honors, from September 2016 through September 2017, displaying our nation’s deepest gratitude to those who faithfully defended our country.
